One such individual is Kasey Conlon, our talented Laboratory Manager, whose leadership, expertise, and enthusiasm are driving the growth of our materials testing labs. Whether she’s managing operations in Lindsay, spearheading the launch of our new asphalt testing lab in Peterborough, or sharing her knowledge through educational videos (stay tuned!), Kasey is a vital part of PRI Engineering’s success.

A Passion for Engineering and Laboratory Testing

For over 15 years, Kasey has immersed herself in the world of engineering, specializing in laboratory testing while gaining valuable field experience along the way. Her love for the intricate processes behind lab operations—a world many don’t get to see—fuels her dedication to her craft.

Her journey began at Fleming College in Lindsay, where she pursued environmental studies. That foundation led her into the environmental and geotechnical fields, setting the stage for an exciting and evolving career in engineering.

A Wealth of Experience in Materials Testing

Before joining PRI, Kasey honed her expertise at Drain Bros, where she focused on asphalt and aggregates testing. She also explored field testing and environmental assessments, developing a broad perspective on materials and construction processes.

Prior to that, she wore multiple hats at WSP, progressing from field technician to lab and office representative, ultimately leading three laboratories. This diverse experience armed her with the skills and leadership to elevate PRI Engineering’s laboratory capabilities.

Pioneering Innovation at PRI Engineering

As PRI’s Laboratory Manager, Kasey is at the forefront of innovation. She’s not only ensuring the seamless operation of our existing lab in Lindsay but is also leading the setup of PRI’s cutting-edge asphalt testing lab in Peterborough—designing its layout, optimizing functionality, and ensuring it meets the highest industry standards.

She’s passionate about growing PRI’s lab services, strengthening relationships with industry partners, and bringing in new clients. Her vision aligns perfectly with PRI’s mission: delivering top-tier engineering solutions with precision and excellence.

The Power of Teamwork and Company Culture

Kasey firmly believes that teamwork is the foundation of success—especially in engineering. Completing projects efficiently and on time requires strong collaboration, and fostering a culture of enthusiasm and cooperation is something she prioritizes every day.

She was drawn to PRI not only by its mission but by the energy and passion of her colleagues, including Vikki, Arash, and Roxy. Their enthusiasm for the company’s work resonated deeply with her, making the decision to join PRI an easy one.

Balancing Work and Play

"My family play a significant part in our local hockey league and during the summer, golf helps me to unwind. I'm fortunate to have incredibly supportive friends and family who help me maintain balance. I'm also a strong advocate for promoting a healthy work-life balance, both for myself and my employees.”

Kasey’s Bucket list:

"A trip to Mexico, Golf at 8 new courses this summer, enjoy the hockey tournament at the end of February with our U11 Norwood Hockey Team, open the PRI asphalt lab, look back on 2025 and say 'Yah I did that!'."

Looking to the Future: Expanding PRI’s Capabilities

Over the next five years, Kasey has big plans. She aims to fully establish PRI’s asphalt lab, introduce medium-to-high complexity soil testing, and potentially expand PRI’s reach across Ontario—or even nationwide. With her leadership and expertise, these goals are well within reach.

Above all, Kasey is dedicated to being a reliable and supportive resource for her team. By fostering collaboration and tackling challenges head-on, she’s set to play a key role in PRI Engineering’s continued success.
